What is Humane-Washing?
Every single one of the billions of animals we humans use every year as food, clothing or as entertainment is abused and/or killed.
Humane-washing terms exist to hide this simple, brutal truth. Humane-washing terms are so numerous, and so commonplace, they have become mostly invisible; they are in cultural air we breathe. We are largely unaware that they are all around us — like the words, “beef” and “pork” and “poultry,” even as we consume them all day, every day, just like the living, sentient animals they not only represent, but replace.
READ MORE about humane-washing.
Humane-washing terms, words and phrases are perpetuated by our culture, but supercharged by the advertising and public relations industries to support animal “agriculture” business-as-usual around the world. Hundred million dollar campaigns hide and perpetuate the astonishing brutality of how we human animals treat most non-human animals (except for our companion animals like dogs, cats and horses).

VIDEO: Mary Poppins sings about animals!
Click the image above, or use this LINK: https://youtu.be/aBMq9QrHPGk
We silly humans kill billions of animals every year so we can eat them. We like to say we’ve done this for thousands of years, but today, in 2024, with billions more humans on the planet, the slaughter must be mechanized, and industrialized. Despite the current trend of claims about “small” and “local” animal “processing,” etc.)
Most people get understandably upset if they see someone kick a dog, yet our cultural conditioning makes our treating animals as objects, to then kill and eat them, invisible to us consumers. The reality is also quite intentionally hidden behind windowless slaughterhouse walls by giant, for-profit industries which then also, absolutely, lie — advertise” — about it.
So…It’s the perfect topic for wholesome Mary Poppins to sing about!
Enjoy! Bon appetite!

What’s with all the vegans?
Seems like more and more (human) people are willing to question what they were fed as children — and kept eating into adulthood. Not just what they eat, buy why; educating themselves AND taking responsibility for what they learn, and then taking action upon in learning about the massive abuse we humans subject literally billions of the planet’s innocent, vulnerable, wondrous animals to. The furry, the finned, and the winged all suffer immeasurably when we insist on consuming them, mostly because we were taught to do so as children.
In addition to the misery we subject animals too, feeding billions of animals to billions of humans also does huge environmental damage. And finally, we harm our own health too.

• Earthlings documentary film: REVIEW EXCERPT [edited]: This documentary opened up my eyes to the way we are programmed to tolerate, accept and ignore animal cruelty in so many different forms. As this continues, we are conditioned to engage in and accept the suffering of our own species such as military torture. Thank you for producing this incredible documentary. We as humanity need to wake up and be the change we wish to see in the world.” — YouTuber @Life-in-Confidence

• Vegucated is an engaging, guerrilla-style documentary that follows 3 meat- and cheese-loving New Yorkers who agree to adopt a vegan diet for 6 weeks and learn what it’s all about. They have no idea that so much more than steak is at stake, and that the planet’s fate may rest on their plates. Lured by tales of weight lost and health regained, they begin to uncover hidden sides of animal agriculture. Before long, they find themselves risking everything to expose an industry they supported just weeks before. But can their convictions carry them through challenges they encounter — like family vacations fraught with skeptical step-dads, carnivorous cousins, and breakfast buffets?
Part sociological experiment and part adventure comedy, Vegucated showcases the rapid and at times comedic evolution of 3 regular people who try their darnedest to change in a culture that seems dead set against it.”

• Forks Over Knives documentary film: Examines the profound claim that most, if not all, of the chronic diseases that afflict us can be controlled or even reversed by rejecting animal-based and processed foods. The major storyline traces the personal journeys of Dr. T. Colin Campbell, a nutritional biochemist from Cornell University, and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, a former top surgeon at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic. On separate paths, their discoveries and groundbreaking research led them to the same startling conclusion: Chronic diseases including heart disease and type-2 diabetes can almost always be prevented—and in many cases reversed—by adopting a whole-food, plant-based diet. The idea of food as medicine is put to the test. The film follows everyday Americans with chronic conditions as they seek to reduce their dependence on medications and learn to use a whole-food, plant-based diet to regain control over their health and their lives.”

Protein & Vitamin B-12
Q. Don’t I need to eat meat, eggs or dairy to get enough protein?
SHORT ANSWER: No. Absolutely not.
We’ve all been sold a(nother) bill of good (B.S.) from Big Beef and Big Dairy industries, teaching us all, as kids, that we need to eat lots of red meat and drink cow’s milk to get enough protein, or the “best” protein. This is all absolute medical and scientific nonsense.
Even anecdotally, have you ever met anyone who was diagnosed with a protein deficiency in the (wealthy, privileged) United States? Compare that nonexistent number with how many people you know who have been diagnosed with various cardiovascular diseases related to their meat and dairy-laden “It’s the cheese!” diets?
READ ABOUT all the plenty ‘o protein you get from a plant-based diet, and without all the risks associated with a standard American diet laden with animal products. On the helpful resource website of NutritionFacts.org: https://nutritionfacts.org/topics/plant-protein/
____________
Q. What about Vitamin B-12? Don’t I need to eat meat or dairy or eggs to get enough B-12?
SHORT ANSWER: No. Absolutely not. As with protein, you’d have to work really hard to NOT get enough B-12, and all the other nutrients you need, from a plant-based diet. Plus a plant-based diet is far healthier than a meat & dairy-laden diet.
